The Southern Rivers Birding Trail winds through the West Point Dam area. Bird watchers from all over the nation flocked to West Point Dam during the winter of 2010 to catch an unheard of glimpse of an ivory gull. Don't be surprised to spot an American Bald Eagle or an osprey overhead, searching for food, or hear the call of a loon.
